Swarthmore-Wallingford School Board, Region 2

I am running for School Board for the Wallingford-Swarthmore School District. I am a politically progressive father of children in the district and I have spent my entire life in education, in academia and the non-profit sector. I am a firm believer in the value of public education and will work hard to ensure the continued success of the school district.

I am a graduate of the University of Maryland, hold a Master's Degree from Arizona State University and am an ABD from the University of Kentucky. I work as an Adjunct Professor at Thomas Jefferson University and Delaware County Community College. Previously, I have spent years teaching children and adults as an environmental educator at the Delaware Nature Society and spent time in the Education Department at the Delaware Museum of Natural History. Additionally, I volunteer in the schools of the Wallingford-Swarthmore School District and am a part of the district's Sustainability Committee.

My wife and I moved here specifically for the excellent schools, with our oldest attending Strath Haven Middle School and our youngest attending Nether Providence Elementary. My story of moving to this area based mostly on the school district is one that I encounter over and over, and I know that the strength of our communities of Nether Providence, Rose Valley, Swarthmore, and Rutledge lie in our education system. I plan on keeping our district as one of the best in all of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, while still remaining financial viable.
